Bennett’s interests outside of work include martial arts, flying (she is a licensed helicopter pilot!), traveling, and spending quality time with her family. What she likes most about her job, though, is teaching her clients and staff everything she knows about the veterinary profession-being able to make a lasting difference is the ultimate reward!ĭr. She started in August of 2014 and has been here ever since now, Dr. When she realized she missed the personal connections with pets and their families, she made the decision to transition away from emergency and specialty medicine into general practice-it wasn’t long before Dr. Bennett moved to Louisiana and completed a year-long rotating internship. Bennett worked in an emergency pet hospital during her schooling, and also helped with a number of international wildlife projects during her studies-she worked with wildlife in South Africa and even completed a one-month preceptorship at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!Īfter veterinary school, Dr. Next, she attended Colorado State University to earn her undergraduate degree in biology, and remained at the University to earn her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Bennett’s animal-care career began at her local small-animal clinic, where she signed on as a kennel attendant during high school. Bennett started working one-on-one with others’ pets as a licensed veterinarian, she had a realization: what she truly loves is connecting with her community’s families and helping their animal companions to live the happiest and healthiest lives possible.ĭr. She’s been caring for animals of every shape and size for as long as she can remember! When Dr. Bennett grew up on a horse ranch in rural Nevada, where she was surrounded by horses and cattle, pot-bellied pigs, dogs and cats, parrots, chickens, and plenty of wildlife.
